Bas doesn't like going to school. He has asthma, isn't very good at sports, and is severely bullied. But then there's Tasha. She finds him quite sweet and likeable.
One day Bas cycles to school, as always. He takes the bend at the square and crashes violently into a caravan. The circus is in town. There he meets Lidi. Bas feels empowered, especially when something mysterious happens with Lidi in the circus and escaped wild animals.
