Summary:

"Sit," the man commands in a hoarse whisper, "there." He points to the stairs and Jos obeys. Dazed, he wonders what this guy wants from him. Something tickles in his stomach, as if he needs to laugh. But it could just as easily be crying, or screaming, and he breathes and swallows to get rid of the feeling.'

Jos is looking after his sister Susan. When he runs downstairs to answer the phone, a strange man suddenly stands in the hallway.
