Policy and Practice
A new book by ECHA Specialist Giftedness Jan Kuipers and experienced enrichment class supervisor Bouke van der Meulen. Many schools offer appropriate provisions for intelligent and gifted students by differentiating instruction, pace, and attention, for example, by compacting and enriching. A significant portion of these students thrive in this arrangement. For some students, however, this educational provision is insufficient, and an enrichment arrangement with extra support is desired. An enrichment class is one of the possibilities.
Setting up and successfully running an enrichment class requires significant effort and thorough preparation. This includes considering the application procedure, admission or rejection criteria, funding and staffing, and effective communication between the enrichment class and the regular classroom.
With this book, you will be able to set up an (inter-school) enrichment class or to better organize an existing one.
