These small, sturdy A4-sized posters make it easy to discuss executive functions with your students.

The helpful phrases on the posters allow children to critically assess their own skills and set goals to work on. The phrases aid in understanding executive functions.

How to use the materials:

• Hang the poster in the classroom. This poster illustrates the different executive functions.
• Also hang up the goal cards: these display goals for each executive function from which children can choose. You can choose to focus on a few executive functions (in younger grades), or hang up everything at once (from grade 4 upwards).
• Have the children write their name, the date, and their chosen executive function and goal on the goal slip. Have them reflect on how good they are at it now, and when they will evaluate.
• Children can evaluate their goal and choose a new one weekly, monthly, or a few times a year.
• If you work with a goal wall, the slips can be hung up with the poster and goal cards. This allows children to regularly review their chosen goal.
