The worst day of my life!

You know them, those children with little impulse control (to put it simply). You've agreed on something with them, and they still do something else because they suddenly feel like it. At school, they receive instructions, and when performing a task, they suddenly do it differently. "They don't think it through," many people say, and that's true. They don't get to that thinking; they suddenly do something that seems more fun to them. So, they should actually count to 10 before they suddenly do something. But that is difficult to teach them.

In the book The Worst Day of My Life, we exaggerate the phenomenon because Max experiences many such "sudden" moments in one day. That's why it becomes such a bad day. This makes children realize that this behavior is not so pleasant. And instead of trying in vain to make them count to ten… we give them a few steps they can use. The "sudden" moments are therefore not immediately and forever gone, but they do give the child an insight and approach that will work better and better.

Max has had an incredibly annoying day… he woke up with gum in his hair, was not allowed to play outside as punishment because he was running in the hallway, got a 1 for his math test, scored an own goal, and ruined the pie dough! Max learns during the day that he got into trouble because he doesn't listen well or doesn't follow instructions.

Max's well-intentioned stubbornness and his mindset "I like it much better when I do what I want" lead to very recognizable situations. However, after his experiences during this day, Max really wants to learn to make other choices. In this book, children discover with Max that by listening carefully and following instructions, you can have the very best day of your life!

A number of great additions have also been released for this book, such as the activity guide. In this activity guide, you will find 24 games and activities that form a great addition to the book. The activity guide can be used well both in the classroom and within the family. In addition to the activity guide, two posters have also been released that form a great addition to the classroom. The posters discuss the two main problems Max faces in the book, namely not being able to listen well and not sticking to the assignment. These posters show how you can learn to listen better and stick to instructions.

"The worst day of my life perfectly connects with the world of children. In a story with colorful illustrations, children learn about the difference between hearing and listening and why listening is so important. An absolute addition for both home and the classroom, supplemented with practical tips for educators."
