Communication Cards SLI - Supporting the verbalisation of thoughts and needs

Students with DLD have great difficulty speaking and understanding language, and therefore experience problems with communication. This has a major impact on their behaviour and socio-emotional well-being. It is therefore important that these students gain insight into their own abilities and into the communication skills they can still develop.

The cards in this set can be used to start a conversation with a student with DLD to clarify their support needs. This gives the student more insight into themselves and what they need to function well at school, in social contacts, or in internships. The cards provide the right tools and support to become communicatively self-reliant. These communication cards can be used by itinerant counsellors, educational professionals, coaches, speech therapists, and anyone who works with students with DLD.
