Brain Heroes for group 5-6

Meet Effi and Furon, the Brain Heroes from Brain Hero Planet. These heroes teach your students how to strengthen their Brain Powers. For example, the power to stay focused on a task, the power to delay a reaction, or the power to deal with changes.

Sustained attention, flexibility, goal-oriented perseverance, emotion regulation, planning, and metacognition are some of the executive functions, or regulatory functions, of our brain. They are the functions we need to guide our behavior. Executive functions are crucial for your (school) success. It's therefore important to explicitly address them. Brain Heroes is a twenty-week program that allows you to thoughtfully work on executive functions in your group. The executive functions have been translated into ten Brain Powers. For each power, you'll find playful activities and tips to strengthen that function. The authors also provide insight into the theory behind executive functions.

Brain Heroes is also available for group 1-2, group 3-4, and group 7-8. It doesn't matter if your students are already familiar with Brain Heroes; the book takes this into account. By implementing the Brain Heroes program throughout the entire primary school, you ensure a continuous approach to strengthening executive functions.
