This game is a fun way to practice calculating with fractions in pairs. It also allows for strategic play. It is a combination of Canadian math and Connect Four. It practices multiplication, addition, subtraction, and finding common denominators for fractions.
Contents:
- 3 cards with 4-fractions-in-a-row of varying difficulty:
* Fraction plus fraction -> no simplification
* Number times fraction -> no simplification
* Number times fraction -> with simplification
- an instruction sheet
- 2x 15 red/yellow chips
- 2 pawns
In short:
Choose a number or fraction from the top and bottom rows at the bottom of the card, and place a pawn under it. Now create an equation with the number and/or fraction, calculate it, and place a chip of your color on the answer.
Now it's the other player's turn. You may move 1 pawn and calculate the new multiplication problem. Now place your chip on the answer. Continue until you have 4-in-a-row!
